Sao Mai Education Fund was established in year 2002 by Amedeo Pignatelli and Carlo Pizzato, who are both the co-founders of Bung Sang Computer Project (1999-2001) And Sao Mai Computer Center now, established in 2001, is the achievement of Bung Sang project.

Main purposes of the Sao Mai Education Fund are to support computer education programs and related activities for the blind of the center.

The fund encourages blind persons to study and do research on computer.
The fund is operated with collaboration with Italian NGOs Associazione Mantovan (Bolzan, Italy) and Associazione Italia Vietnam (Veneto Region, Italy).
Mantovan Association will provide receipt of donation for tax purposes when contributions are received in the Association bank account

Since 2003, the Fund has started a computer education program for blind women, especially blind women from provinces. Sao Mai Center has worked with organizations for/of the blind in Vietnam to select right blind women and provide them the scholarships from the Fund to train them to become computer trainers so they can transfer their know-how to their colleagues/friends in their provinces or either empower their studies at school and work.
Till end of year 2008, the Fund provided 30 scholarships to 30 blind women in this program. For more information, please visit www.saomaiedufund.info
