Sao Mai Education Fund was established in year 2002 by Amedeo Pignatelli and Carlo Pizzato, who are both the co-founders of Bung Sang Computer Project (1999-2001) And Sao Mai Computer Center now, established in 2001, is the achievement of Bung Sang project.

Main purposes of the Sao Mai Education Fund are to support computer education programs and related activities for the blind of the center. Read more »

Sao Mai Online Learning/Training System

Sao Mai is happy to announce that our online training/learning system is officially published at http://ol.saomaicenter.org
Our Training team and web developpers have been working hard in studying different types of system, online teaching methods for the blind, writing lectures/lesson plans and building the system to make this system available for the blind and concerned people in Vietnam.

for the moment, we are providing computer courses for the blind such as Excel/Word/Powerpoint with Jaws, Internet/Email, Windows etc. These courses are available all the time so blind and concerned people can register and enroll to the courses when they have time. Blind students assembling a computer

Sao Mai Computer Center For The Blind, after executing the mission of computer training for the blind for 1 year, has obtained the congratulating result which is the organization of two computer courses for 35 blind students completing the computer basis programs. But looking back to that result, SMCC feels its weakness, if SMCC does not find out new training solution, after next 100 years, it would train computer for just about 3,000-4000 of 100,000 blind children all over the country.

The depression has pressed the dream of Sao Mai Computer Center For The Blind that find out a way to train with the speed of geometric progression so that the Center could early help to universalize computer for the blind. Read more »

Together walk for “Programme of extending the network of remote computer training for visually impaired people”

In the morning November 25th 2007, at Theater of Ho Chi Minh city, more than 3,000 people together joined in walking “Establishing the network of remote computer training for visually impaired people” launched by Association of disable children assistance HCMC. The programme was mainly funded by Sacombank (SCB) of 500 million dong, together with 18 other sponsores. With the total amount of sponsorship is announced up to 1,140 billion dong. Read more »

“Establishing the network of distance computer training for visually impaired people” project is one kind of the remote computer training for visually impaired people firstly established in Vietnam by the teachers who are visually impaired directly teach. The project will establish a network of remote computer training between Saomai computer center and four units for visually impaired people from four provinced stated above. In there, Saomai computer center will establish computer courses with the method of remote training. This workshop is to bring experts/computer instructors in the South-East Asia together for the face-to-face course on Jaws scripting after attending the online courses conducted by Mr. Victor Tsaran and Mr. Dang Hoai Phuc. The workshop is to start from June 4 to June 15 (2 weeks), 2007 at Sao Mai. We have 7 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. All participants are from organizations for/of the blind in the region.
